Photo Editing: Whitefish Photo

It was so much fun going skiing in Whitefish, and I got so many good photos! I'll explain how I edited the photos I took there. This photo here is one of my favorite ones I took, because I love how it just looks like a drop off into the clouds. It wasn't quite sunset, but it was really late in the day which made the sky take on some colors. The before image is shown below:
Picture
1. As you can see, it's lacking color and contrast, and there is part of a sign visible at the bottom. I use Lightroom and Photoshop to edit all my images, and after I imported the photo into Lightroom, the first thing I did was bring up the contrast and the vibrance.

2. I then used the gradient tool in lightroom to make the sky bluer and darker, and then I sharpened it, removed noise, and then adjusted the highlights and shadows. The image was looking almost perfect, but it still wasn't there yet.

4. The last thing I did was remove the sign in photoshop, I lightened the trees a little, and then did some final touch-ups on the color. I think it turned out really nice!

3. I then changed the white balance to make it warmer and more pink, and then used an adjustment brush to make the snow more white and less pink/yellow. I then added a vingette, and also used an adjustment brush on the orange part of the sky to make it a little more orange.
